Society Activities

The Society is active in the areas of conservation within the village in the following ways:-

the planting of bulbs and trees to improve the environment of the roadside verges;

 by the making of representations to the Selby District Council Planning Committee regarding unsuitable building or development  primarily to attempt to conserve the rural character of the village;

created the Parish Map and cabinet;

and helped to create the sundial on the village green;

it has also been responsible for looking after the 'Ducks Crossing' signs near the village pond; refurbishment of the  verges management of the roadside verges and monitoring of the flaura; the village pump on Main Street and the milestone on Market Weighton Road.
